I heard Donald Miller talk at Leadercast about “Building a Story Brand”.

All great stories have a common story line.

A CHARACTER emerges.

He has a PROBLEM.

A GUIDE shows up.

He introduces a PLAN.

That keeps them OUT OF DANGER.

Then a HAPPY ENDING.

Don says the problem is we think we are the CHARACTER when we should be the GUIDE.

In other words, we always think about “what’s in for me?”

Look at your web page and see if you are the CHARACTER or the GUIDE.

Start by defining what your customer wants. The more we do that the more they are drawn in.
