Be Honest
Mobile Joe moved to Atlanta from Ohio and started out with a Mobile Car washing business.
He would come to your house and detail your car.
But customers kept asking him if he would do their lawn with the same precision as he did detailing their cars.
Next thing he knew he was in the lawn business.
If you’re like me this sounds like an easy business. The problem is everyone else does too.
Who doesn’t know how to cut grass?
But Joe has mastered it. He has 100’s of customers paying him 100’s of dollars a month. Every month!
He figured it out long before software guys did!
Then added the installation of plants and outdoor areas and doubled his business.
He picks and chooses who he wants to work with. If you’re an A- – he won’t cut your lawn. If you are not close to his current route he won’t add another route until he has enough business there to make sense.
But the best thing I learned from Mobile Joe is, “You are not going to fire me on text or email you have to fire me in person.”
He says he wants to see why you are firing him and if his guys messed up he wants a chance to fix it.
So according to Joe, “Be honest with your customers and make then fire you in person”.
