Walking in the Right Direction
About 2 years ago, I read a great book titled “Younger Next Year” by Chris Crowley and Dr. Henry Lodge.
It made me realize that once we get to 50, our job is to stay healthy, not just work.
I decided that I needed to start living a healthier lifestyle, so I started thinking about ways I could incorporate exercise into my everyday routine, so, I started walking to work. Since the distance from my house to my office was only 3 miles, I thought it would go by quicker than it actually did… and I started to get bored. After I had brainstormed ways that I could make the time pass quicker, I had the idea to start filming videos. I have always been passionate about helping others, so I decided I could turn my morning walk into “Steps of Inspiration” to help others get their day started on the right foot.
At first, I was worried about what others might think, “Who does he think he is to be the professor of inspiration??” However, the response to the videos was unbelievable. Everywhere I would go, people would tell me how much they loved my videos. So, I kept walking to work, and the positive feedback continued to come in, which inspired me to keep posting!
Because of those videos, I have received several speaking engagements from people who were already following me that didn’t know I had knowledge or guidance to give in certain areas.
YOU too have assets (knowledge) in what you do as a profession, and people need to hear about it! The problem is we know our craft so well, we forget that other people might not know HOW much we know. So, I want to inspire you to check out these folks who are helping others excel in their craft:
